In the art I make, I am interested in exploring the continuum between ephemeral actions and eternal values. I am intrigued by characters who compromise both their own security and that of the group they belong to, to fill insatiable desires which lead to their self-destruction. I am interested in the tensions between the emotions of the heart and the thoughts of the mind, and the role these play in metacognition.  The awareness and understanding of one's own thought processes and the performance of actions without conscious thought or intention exhibited in automatism often lead to different outcomes. These internal struggles manifest themselves outwardly in the façades people erect in order to cover up their vulnerabilities and present a different identity to the outside world. These internal tensions are driven by moral and social constructs, influencing the development of character and addressing the circularity of introspection and human experience.
